Octopus Energy has launched a new home electric vehicle charging service that offers unlimited smart charging for £30 a month.

The new Intelligent Drive Pack subscription model is designed for drivers on a standard Octopus electricity tariff and will work with almost 280 compatible EV brands and chargers.

The subscription covers smart charging for one electric car scheduled by Octopus, usually overnight. Customers can also choose a ‘ready by’ time between 4-11am and enjoy the greenest energy possible at a fixed low price.

Customers who want to charge during unscheduled hours can use a boost function on their app to charge at their normal home energy rate.

Octopus’ original smart EV tariff, Intelligent Octopus Go, now has over 260,000 customers and is available in six other countries where it supplies energy: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, New Zealand and the US.
