The EU is struggling to agree a set of nationally Defined Contribution targets ahead of COP30.

Reuters has reported that instead the bloc may attempt to crate a temporary target, that could be subject to change later.

Such a move may save a few blushes at the COP but presents a disunited picture as some Members push forward with renewables at a faster rate than others. It will also call into question quite how ambitious a final target will be, leaving the EU potentially to lag behind the UK or even China.
