The UK's largest solar farm has gained approval from DESNZ after a planning inquiry and despite local objections.
The Springwell Solar Farm, near Lincoln will be developed by EDF with a total capacity exceeding 50MW. Electricity should be produced from 2029 from the new solar farm with battery storage on site.
Springwell is classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) because it will generate over 50MW of electricity and has therefore had to apply for a special type of planning consent called a Development Consent Order (DCO) to build and operate it.
